I researched this on here and the wider web and drove myself to distraction on options. Welcome I only joined properly back in September after a year of lurking and it sounds like you're doing similar stuff to me music wise. it has 4 stereo channels, 2 of which have compressors, and 3 band EQ which makes for some great distortion tones. However my favorite mixer (that I own) for dirt is a Yamaha MG102c. now I use a Behringer UB2222FX Pro mixer (which seems to be discontinued) but it works great for me. Also I'd recommend and analog mixer for techno because overdriving the mixer channels is a big part of that sound to me. Don't get the MX-1 if you only have one Aria box as all those USB ports will just be wasted and it won't have enough analog inputs if you add more gear. Now I use a Boss DD-7 for my delay but it's the effect I spent the most on. My modulation and or drum reverb comes from my Zoom 1204 ($50). My main ambient type of reverb comes from my DigiTeck MSP4 (the unit I bought for $45). And many are cheap enough you can buy a few cheap boxes until you find one you like. Some might think it's trashy but it suits techno just fine. there are good and cheap multi-fx out there (mostly 80's and 90's units). I would be happy about some advise and recommendations. I maybe wanna add another synthesizer later but i dont need a lot of inputs so something around 8-12 channels should do it. So what are your recommendations for small live set ups? Are there other mixers with built in mastering and effects including reverb or is the roland the only one like this? Would you go analog or digital? It seems to lack a reverb which i would be a shame since i would have to get an external one and spend money again. Im not sure about it, if i really should get a more expensive mixer, and if yes if the mx1 is for me. He said i should get a Roland mx1 instead, since it is supposed to sound better and have delay and some mastering effects built in already. I talked to a guy at my local music store and he advised me to get rid of the cheap mixer because i wont do my sound any good. What im missing to be happy now is maybe some reverb and delay for my synth and some kind of compression to get a decent signal when everything is running. To mix everything i use a cheap Thomann mixer t.mix 1202. Right now i have a small set up, consisting a Drum machine (Roland TR-8), Monosynth (Bassstation2), Korg Volca Sampler and Jomox Mbase 11. Right now im playing on my home system but im considering playing live later. So i dont have much experience in hardware based music production and performance. Last year i got into making electronic music live with a high focus on improvisation and no computer. I have been making (electronic) music since 2007. After months of lurking i decided to join in myself.
